Want Help With ClickFunnels? Concierge Can Help

In this post I plan to take you through the good, the bad and the ugly in my experiences of ClickFunnels vs LeadPages and OptimizePress.

What I Hate About ClickFunnels

Building Membership Sites

If you are considering building a membership site there are a few key problems with ClickFunnels.

1. Hosting all your content on their platform is a big commitment, what happens if they go out of business or you want to stop paying them?

2. Migrating your data out, isn’t like changing wordpress membership plugins, you have to move everything.

Automated Webinars

Compared to Stealth Seminar and Evergreen Business Systems, what you get in ClickFunnels isn’t really as feature rich and good.

It’s really just a video embedded on a page, yeah it can do some email stuff but if you are really serious you should be using Ontraport, Infusionsoft or ActiveCampaign for these reminder and show up emails for your webinars.

Marketing Comparison on Their Homepage

To be “helpful” the homepage of Clickfunnels offers a comparison table of it’s features vs leadpages and optimizepress 2.0 and this on first glance looks quite accurate however…

1. Easy Page Replication is something that LeadPages and OptimizePress 2 can both do

2. Sharing funnels with other LeadPages users is possible and you can export pages as templates out of OptimizePress 2

3. Completely Custom Order forms can easily be done in OptimizePress 2 as well

4. Split Testing isn’t built into OptimizePress 2 but since it’s wordpress there are plenty of free and paid tools that allow this.

5. One Click Upsells can be done using a tool like Ontraport or Infusionsoft (with an additional plugin), or with some other checkout tools, so the key difference is only that ClickFunnels includes a checkout process, although OptimizePress’s free Memberplugin (OptimizeMember) can also do this so you could argue it’s included in OptimizePress as well.

Template Choices and Designs

1. Minimal choices

2. Many are ugly – the best design templates are in LeadPages

Plans and Pricing Structure

1. $37/m plan is useless compared to OptimizePress or LeadPages

2. Plans are limited by Unique Page Views

What I Love

Conversion Metrics Across The Funnel and Each Funnel Stage

Wondering why your funnel isn’t converting? Clickfunnels will show you exactly where in your funnel the issue lies.

See how many visitors to each page, see the conversation for the overall funnel as well as for each page in the funnel. This makes finding bad offers or poor converting pages really easy.

Easily Visualise The Entire Funnel and How It Links Together

Unlike LeadPages and OptimizePress which are focused on one page at a time, Clickfunnels is focused on the entire funnel and you simply add or edit pages inside the funnel.

This makes visually seeing all the pages and how they connect to each other really simple and easy, and makes managing and updates quick.

OptimizePress and LeadPages you can spend some time finding all the pages you need to edit that relate to each other if you haven’t used a simple naming convention.

Clone A Funnel – then Tweak

This is a powerful feature, the ability to take a funnel you have already built and clone the entire process. Every page, every upsell, downsell etc… all copied across.

This means if you want to test a different lead magnet but the rest of the funnel is the same, you simply clone the funnel and change the first page and start driving traffic. Less than 10 minute work.

This is an extremely powerful feature from ClickFunnels.

Powerful Page Editor – no coding required

LeadPages and OptimizePress also have page editors, LeadPages is useless – you can’t do much except hide some elements and change some colours. OptimizePress is extremely flexible and very powerful – but if you want to make a page that really looks WOW in design you do have to do what our team do and get under the hood and add some custom CSS and HTML.

ClickFunnels page editor is super simple, in fact our designers love it – it’s their favourite editor of them all. They can design right in the system without needing to create a photoshop mockup and they don’t need to know any code.

Adjust Funnel Flow with Drag and Drop

Want to move an upsell earlier in the funnel? No problem with the Drag and Drop feature inside ClickFunnels. You can simply click on the stage of the funnel (eg. an upsell, downsell, thank you page etc..) and move it wherever you want and without any coding changes it will now be at this point in the funnel.

2 Week free Trial

If you’re wondering if it’s right for you, then there’s no reason not to take up their 2 week free trial and see for yourself.

While there are things I don’t like, there is still plenty that’s good and right about clickfunnels, otherwise our clients wouldn’t use it. So why not take it for a test drive today.

Summary – My Overall ClickFunnels Review

While my personal preference is OptimizePress for building out funnels and pages. Clickfunnels does a great job at making things fast and easy to update and bringing it all together.

My recommendation would be use Clickfunnels to test a concept and ideas, and once it’s working consider rebuilding the funnel in OptimizePress.

At the end of the day, it’s worth taking the 2 week free trial to find out if you like it or not

  • Thanks for this great overview. Helped to confirm a few things I was thinking myself.

  • KBL

Helpful. I’m trying to decide if CF is worth $100/month.

    • In my opinion it’s worth the full suite…but that’s my opinion I guess.

    • John

Don’t waste your time!!! If you use it – use it & go all-in. But by your question alone, it’s NOT worth your time.

    • Larry Klein

dude — sure way to NOT be successful is to not invest in the right tools. If you are sweating $100/mo to earn $10,000/mo, your thinking is not right.

  • Damien Hooper

They have removed the cheapest membership option.

  • John

$97 per month for 20 funnels? F THAT!!! I have 20 funnels just clicking on share codes & cannot go any further… so be careful!! 20 is all you get EVER… ever… ever!!!

    • Deb Hollis

No F- you . F-YOU. F-YOU. If you can’t pay 97 then you CAN’T PAY A F-ING THING . You are Never going to make money online. I will BET you $3,000 you have Never made a penny online. Look at your rubbish mindset. Look at it for f-s sake. Its insane.

  • G Ebersole

Was overcharged and when they didn’t respond to support requests for 2 days I posted on their Facebook page. Didn’t take long for them to block me. The reason they overcharged me is their own funnels don’t work right.

    • Deb Hollis

Nonsense- you hide your face even here. Out of 80,000 folks /members, you state this as if you’re unique. No – you are lying Sir. A defamatory , illegal lie

  • Larry Klein

I like clickfunnels a lot. I think it is a great tool and I am happy for the value at $297/month BUT–the software has too many glitches and the repairs and updates are few and far between. They need more server capacity and I have complained about that for months as the responsiveness is sporadic and sometimes, just turns your 2 hours into 4 hours whole you screw with the software. That is unacceptable.

    • Deb Hollis

What is the update? Are you making money and are you now happy?

      • Larry Klein

yes, the technical problems have disappeared –all good.
There are issues that get overlooked by programmers, simple issues, such as a 2nd field for the visitor to confirm his email address on landing pages.

  • Gemgal

What do you think of Teachables in comparison to Clickfunnels, or Leadpages?

  • Joseph Weston

Know what I hate? They say it can be used to build a full site. Uh, no…. from a development standpoint, this thing is a flipping nightmare. If you want a cookie-cutter site, or just funnels, go for it. you want a full site? Look elsewhere. Me? no choice, if I want paid, I use it. Would prefer to opt out, but not economically feasible.

    • totally agree with you. I do like the product, but after all that hype when I finally signed up for it, I was horrified at what a mess it was.

  • Great article, Carl! You have addressed some intricate points that I have considered as a long-time customer of ClickFunnels. One of the biggest advantages of having a ClickFunnels account is that I can split-test my funnels and payment integrations are a breeze. At the same time, one of the biggest disadvantages of having a ClickFunnels account is it is a hosted platform. Some of their servers recently shut down almost four times and it severely delayed my progress with client projects.

For this reason, I have been hesitant to host my membership sites in ClickFunnels and my main website inside of ClickFunnels. Yes, I have successfully created niche funnel websites as a lead generation tool for my WordPress sites but I NEVER hosted my blogs in ClickFunnels. Their servers are too unstable at the present moment for me to move forward with that option.

    • Deb Hollis

Can you tell me – whether you are now doing well on it and if you’re making money [if not – then I believe its your fault – not C F – am I right) ?

    • Angelica, great feedback. May I ask you what you think of the CF marketing campaign of “You don’t need a website, just CF”?

  • Robert Rik

So this is kinda pricy for me. Id invest a few dollars before id see money coming in, but thats not possbile here? Minimum is more then 50 usd i guess, or can you start making money with this trial period?

    • Deb Hollis

Change your thinking. If you can’t invest 297 – then online is not for you. Get a freaking job for God’s sake. Or start to think like a real business man- not a scam con job poverty stricken man . Who the HELL, I repeat: how the H-E-L-L will give you a money in a business when YOU CAN’T EVEN F-KING spend 297? What the F-K were you going to sell anyway ? You really piss me off.

      • Bruce Goodmansen

Deb, please, get back on your medications. Seriously, read your post. It is full of pompous hate. Your problem, Deb, is that you are just one of the thousands of Milennials who have been raised on nothing but bits of information from cellphone livestreams and chats and texts. Thus, you just can’t think well–and it is obvious to everyone including the author of this article.

    • Larry Klein

Robert-I had to laugh at the tone of Deb’s reply below but she is 100% correct. I just left a comment for another commentor: “dude — sure way to NOT be successful is to not invest in the right tools. If you are sweating $100/mo to earn $10,000/mo, your thinking is not right.”

  • Thank you so much for all of your honest reviews. I’m glad I was able to look past the amazing marketing skills to actually do my research before signing up under all the hype. Now I just need to model that type of landing page for my own website. 😉

have you made any money in the last 2 months? I will bet you $10,000 you have made zero. I will pay up if I am wrong and this is a contract – so I can’t get away , I have to pay. Why do I dare to say this ? Because if you’re not using clickfunnels, then you’re Never – NEVER – NEVER – read my lips slowly… N-e-v-e-r going to make money . lOOK at your results in the last 2 months. I will pay you if I am wrong and you can tell the folks here and the world

      • Deb, let’s keep it positive and constructive please.

I can see from a few of your comments you are quite passionate about his but being rude to people like this isn’t going to help anyone.

Saying that because they are not using a specific tool they will never make money is an over hyped exaggeration. The money is in the mindset and strategy not in the tool.

      • I like your passion, but ClickFunnels is just a tool. What is really important is having marketing funnels. How those are created is a matter of preference.

  • Deb Hollis

I dare anyone to use OPTIMIZEPRESS to build something in this day and age of Clickfunnels. I DARE YOU. You will find like personally drilling your teeth and call me out here if I am wrong. Get clickfunnels. Make money. 80,000 users on Facebook now. NO ONE IN THE WORLD in IM marketings has that many people.

  • Romain Rouiller

the customer service of clickfunnel is a kind of a disaster …
im trying to resolve an issue of third party integration with paypal for now few months…
each time i send to them a message they answered to me by pasting their “bible information”, no one took more that 10 min for try to get my issue done.

Also clickfunnel has regulary technicals problems who create an impossibility for the members of my online course to access to their course

and also for finish, some members of my course get acces to the restrict area without to have paid for that , its absolutely insane,;; each time i spoke about that to their support they simply ignore my request^^^^

I mean, this compagny has the monopole for instance but once a new competitor will do the same they are done^!
if any clickfunnel worker see my comment and finally want to resolve my issue, be free to contact me here : [email protected]

    • Romain, I’m a web developer by trade and was horrified at what a mess CF is from a development stand point. So it’s no wonder other areas are messy too, like customer service, etc.

  • Outstanding article. I offer Done-for-you websites using a subscription model. I want to integrate funnels without needing my customers to also have to signup for CF. If OptimizePress can keep everything within WordPress, and I can built the cost into the overall subscription that would be fantastic!
