A ClickFunnels Review: Is It the Ultimate Tool for Creating Sales Funnels?

Carl Taylor | September 23, 2019

Can ClickFunnels really help you to build an amazing sales funnel? Find out in this review.

Whether you’ve consciously built one or not, your business has a sales funnel.

Simply put, your funnel is a representation of the journey that takes someone from prospect to customer. It covers all of the little touchpoints in between that determine how you nurture the prospect.

Your goal is to make that funnel as efficient as possible.

You want as many people as possible to complete the journey through the funnel so that your business can grow its sales.

It’s time for you to take control of your funnel so you can optimise it. And with ClickFunnels, we have a tool that claims to help you.

What Is ClickFunnels?

ClickFunnels claims that it can help you to create funnels that turn visitors into leads and leads into customers.

In that sense, it offers a full-scale sales funnel building service. With ClickFunnels, you can take your visitors from the beginning to the end of the journey.

Best of all, you don’t need any coding experience to do it.

ClickFunnels’ big selling point comes from how easy it is to create pages for your funnel using the platform. It allows you to create focused funnels that ensure prospects don’t get confused during their journey.

That means you can use it to create your landing pages and the lead magnets that you attach to them. ClickFunnels can integrate with several CRMs, which makes information gathering easy.

Automation Agency can help you with this if you send a ticket to the Concierge service.

You can use ClickFunnels to deliver content and follow-up with prospects. And ultimately, you can even manage your payment gateways using the platform.

That’s the marketing speak at least. ClickFunnels claims to be the simple all-in-one solution for anyone who needs to build a sales funnel.

But does it deliver?

Let’s take a look at some of its key features so you can see if it’s worth investing in.

Feature #1 – A Simple Editor

The platform sells itself on its simplicity and nowhere is that more evident than with its built-in editor.

ClickFunnels makes use of a drag-and-drop system that allows you to place important page elements wherever you want them. There’s no messing about with any code. Just put the element in the right place and the platform handles all of the backend stuff.

It’s extremely intuitive and surprisingly flexible. The editor allows you to make wholesale changes to the many templates that the platform offers. This means you can personalise any page design so that it provides an accurate representation of your brand.

Every element has its own set of properties, which you can access with the convenient sidebar. This allows you to add text, alter font sizes, and tweak a bunch of element details quickly.

It’s extremely logical and you won’t spend your time searching for different features. With ClickFunnels, you can design effective pages for your funnel quickly.

Of course, you can also rely on Automation Agency to do it all for you. If you provide us with the content, we can handle the page design. Just send a ticket to the Concierge service.

Feature #2 – Pre-Built Funnels

Perhaps you’ve never built a sales funnel before.

What you may not realise is that each product that you sell requires its own funnel. Customers take slightly different journeys for each, which you need to account for.

It can get very complex if you don’t have guidance.

The good news is that ClickFunnels comes with an array of sales funnel blueprints. The platform places these blueprints into three categories:

  • Event Funnels
  • Lead Capture Funnels
  • Sales Page Funnels

Within those categories, you’ll find a wide range of funnels for everything from webinars through to product launches.

It’s just a case of selecting the relevant funnel and jumping into the editor. Make any branding-related changes that you need to make and you have something that’s ready to launch.

This is ideal for those who just want a quick and easy solution while they work on something more in-depth. You can also tweak these funnel blueprints to ensure they deliver exactly what you’re looking for.

Feature #3 – Shopping Carts and Payment Processing

ClickFunnels comes with an integrated shopping cart that you can install onto your website. This is ideal for any ecommerce business owners who want something that’s quick and proven to work. Again, you can integrate this cart into your CRM so you can collect valuable customer data.

This integration also allows you to retarget customers who drop out of the cart.

The platform offers both PayPal and Stripe integration for payment processing. These are the two most popular online payment processing platforms around, which makes them natural choices. However, some users may find that having only two options available limits them.

The ability to offer one-click upsells is another useful feature. You get a simple way to maximise the revenue you generate from a customer. This works well for membership and ecommerce sites as both have the potential for upselling.

Again, the platform makes it very easy to implement these features.

Feature #4 – Multiple Plans

ClickFunnels offers a 14-day free trial to new users, which helps you get acclimated to the platform.

However, you will have to pay to use the platform beyond those two weeks.

You have a choice of two plans – Standard and Etison Suite.

At the time of writing, the Standard plan costs $97 per month. It allows you to create 20 funnels with a total of 100 pages between them. You also have limitations on the number of visitors that you can attract to those funnels. Once you hit 20,000, you’ll have to upgrade.

Still, you get access to most of the platform’s key features in this package.

The only real exception to that is the email building functionality. You’ll have to spend $297 per month on the Etison Suite to get access to that. With the more expensive package, you can build emails, manage a list, and broadcast campaigns. This is all stuff that you can achieve with appropriate integration with a CRM.

However, the Etison Suite also removes the limitations that the standard plan places on funnel creation.

That makes it invaluable if you have a lot of products or if you’re offering funnel building services to several businesses.

Feature #5 – Tons of Page Elements

Simple page editing means little if you don’t have plenty of elements to play around with.

Fortunately, this is another area where ClickFunnels excels.

You get the basic building blocks for any landing or website page. These include widgets for entering headlines, text, images, and forms.

On the advanced end of the spectrum, the platform also offers widgets for:

  • Creating surveys.
  • Inserting progress bars, which is great for multi-page offers.
  • Countdown timers.
  • FAQs.
  • Price table templates.

You get access to all of these through the page editor. And again, it’s just a case of dragging and dropping into the appropriate place.

For the coders among you, ClickFunnels also offers a custom HTML option. That means you can go into the code and tweak things a little more, if needed.

Feature #6 – The Onboarding Process

Though ClickFunnels strives for simplicity, the sheer amount of stuff you can do may prove intimidating.

The people behind the platform have anticipated this and created a huge number of tutorial videos to show you how everything works. Most of this gets collected into its 7-day onboarding challenge.

You play four games during each day of the challenge. For each, you’ll view a tutorial video before getting down to some practical work. By the end, you’ll have a solid grasp of how to use the platform to create funnels.

It’s a clever idea and works much better than just dumping a bunch of video tutorials onto a page. You get a structure to manage your learning, with every new aspect introduced logically.

Is ClickFunnels Right For You?

Whether you’re new to the concept of sales funnels or you’ve built a bunch before, ClickFunnels is a great choice.

The lack of coding requirements makes it really easy to use, though you also have the option to code if you want to. You get access to a bunch of proven funnel blueprints, which means you’re not building from scratch.

And the fact that you can build a funnel from start to finish, with follow-up funnels as well, makes it especially appealing.
