A Leadpages Review: How Can You Unlock The Awesome Conversion Strength Of This Powerful Tool?

Carl Taylor | August 19, 2019

The quality of your landing pages has a huge impact on the effectiveness of your lead magnets. Does Leadpages offer everything you need to make landing pages that convert?

Just how important is a good landing page to your campaign?

A great landing page aligns with the content of the ad or post that directed the visitor to it. It has a great design that encourages the visitor to send along their details.

Simply put, great landing pages lead to more conversions. You get to add more names to your subscriber list, which means more people enter your funnel. And that means more sales made for your business.

Landing pages are a critical component of any online marketing campaign.

The problem comes from building them. Traditionally, you’d engage the services of designers and developers to bring everything together. The former would handle how the page looked while the latter dealt with coding forms and handling CRM integration.

But now, you have access to tools that can help with all aspects of landing page creation.

Leadpages is one such tool. This review will take a closer look at its key feature so you can see if it’s a good choice for you.

What Is Leadpages?

Leadpages says that its main goal is to help you turn your clicks into customers.

To do that, it offers you a powerful landing page creation tool that ensures you make the most of your lead generation efforts. Whether you’re looking to close sales or build your subscriber list, the tool claims that it can offer something for you.

The plugin’s website says that over 40,000 people use the tool and it features a host of testimonials from happy users.

Leadpages focuses mostly on the small business market. It’s aimed towards those who might have just one website that they point all of their traffic towards. With Leadpages, these people can create targeted landing pages without any coding experience. This, in turn, makes their marketing campaigns more effective as their landing pages increase in relevance.

The tool also offers key data insights that help you to figure out if your page design actually works.

Let’s find out if it manages to live up to all of the promises. Here are the seven key features that you need to know about.

Feature #1 – The Template Library

Let’s say that you’ve never built a landing page before.

Where on Earth do you start? With so many elements that you could add into the page, it’s easy to get lost. You might end up with a page that tries to cram too much in all at once. Or, you could create such a sparse design that you struggle to attract any interest.

Leadpages has you covered thanks to its detailed Templates Library. You get access to a host of pre-tested landing page designs.

The plugin splits these into two categories – Standard and Drag and Drop.

Standard templates offer very little flexibility when it comes to element placement. However, they’re ideal if you just want to add your branding and content to a page that’s ready to go. If you’re looking to launch some lead magnets quickly, this may be the best option.

The Drag and Drop templates offer much more flexibility. You’ll notice that you get access to an editor that allows you to move page elements around. It’s easy to alter page and font styles. Plus, you can deal with the SEO aspects, such as Title Tags and Meta Descriptions, from within the editor.

There’s no coding required for either, so it’s just a case of figuring out how much control you really want. You also get to choose from over 100 templates, so you shouldn’t have any difficulty finding something that works. And that’s without mentioning all of the paid templates that you have access to.

Feature #2 – Easy A/B Testing

This feature allows you to create several variations of a landing page design. Leadpages then takes all of these designs and serves them randomly to visitors.

All of the while, it’s collecting data about how people react to each design. You’ll get to see if one page leads to more people bouncing away than the others. By the end, you’ll be able to create an optimised landing page that’s going to achieve more conversions.

Unfortunately, the plugin does have some limitations here. The A/B testing module is only available for Standard templates. That means you’ll need to run your own tests if you’ve created your landing page using a Drag and Drop template.

You also only get access if you have the Pro or Advanced package.

Feature #3 – Several Analytics Options

Leadpages offers up a dashboard that contains some simple analytics related to your landing page. You can see the number of visitors you’ve attracted over a given period. You can also track your conversion/opt-in rate.

However, it’s the ability to integrate with superior analytics platforms that sets it apart. You can use the platform to insert both Google Analytics and Facebook Pixel code into your landing pages. This gives you access to more detailed data that will help you to build targeted campaigns.

Feature #4 – Pop-Ups and Alert Bars

It’s here where Leadpages starts to move beyond being a simple landing page creator.

It also contains a feature called Leadboxes. This allows you to create pop-up boxes and alert bars that you can insert onto your landing page.

Have you ever visited a website only to have a pop-up appear just as you’re about to click away? That pop-up often encourages you to stick around and take advantage of an offer.

That’s what you can create using Leadboxes. The platform allows you to create multiple opt-in options without taking up more space on your landing page.

You can edit your Leadbox in much the same way as you edit your landing pages. Plus, you get access to analytics specifically for the pop-up. This means you can see if it’s getting your conversions or just getting in the way of your visitors.

Feature #5 – No Hosting Needed

Perhaps you don’t yet have a website or domain name.

That’s okay because Leadpages can handle all of the hosting services for you. It’s included as part of your subscription, so you don’t need to worry about where the page will go. You just create it, get a link, and start using it in your marketing campaigns.

Just click the Publish button and the platform makes the page live.

Of course, those who have their own domains can choose to host their Leadpages creations themselves.

Feature #6 – Responsive Previews

With more people accessing web content via smartphones than ever before, it’s crucial that you have a responsive landing page. This will ensure it displays well on any device and in any browser.

Leadpages makes allowances for this with its responsive previews. This allows you to create your page and then test how it will look on different devices. You don’t even need the device in question. The buttons at the top-right of the page allow you to switch between desktop, mobile, and tablet. Leadpages simulates how the page will look on each device, which means you can catch discrepancies before you publish.

The only issue is that you don’t have access to a responsive editor. If you spot an issue, you have to go back to the editor, make a change, and preview it again. It’s not a huge hassle but it adds a little more time to the process.

Feature #7 – Build Entire Websites

In 2019, Leadpages unveiled an update that allows you to build entire websites using the platform.

You get access to a range of full website templates. Much like with the landing page builder, you can edit the pages and use Drag and Drop to make changes. You also get control over navigation menus, as well as access to all of the usual Leadpages features.
