In this post I plan to take you through the good, the bad and the ugly in my experiences of ClickFunnels vs LeadPages and OptimizePress.
What I Hate About ClickFunnels
Building Membership Sites
If you are considering building a membership site there are a few key problems with ClickFunnels.
1. Hosting all your content on their platform is a big commitment, what happens if they go out of business or you want to stop paying them?
2. Migrating your data out, isn’t like changing wordpress membership plugins, you have to move everything.
Automated Webinars
Compared to Stealth Seminar and Evergreen Business Systems, what you get in ClickFunnels isn’t really as feature rich and good.
It’s really just a video embedded on a page, yeah it can do some email stuff but if you are really serious you should be using Ontraport, Infusionsoft or ActiveCampaign for these reminder and show up emails for your webinars.
Marketing Comparison on Their Homepage
To be “helpful” the homepage of Clickfunnels offers a comparison table of it’s features vs leadpages and optimizepress 2.0 and this on first glance looks quite accurate however…
1. Easy Page Replication is something that LeadPages and OptimizePress 2 can both do
2. Sharing funnels with other LeadPages users is possible and you can export pages as templates out of OptimizePress 2
3. Completely Custom Order forms can easily be done in OptimizePress 2 as well
4. Split Testing isn’t built into OptimizePress 2 but since it’s wordpress there are plenty of free and paid tools that allow this.
5. One Click Upsells can be done using a tool like Ontraport or Infusionsoft (with an additional plugin), or with some other checkout tools, so the key difference is only that ClickFunnels includes a checkout process, although OptimizePress’s free Memberplugin (OptimizeMember) can also do this so you could argue it’s included in OptimizePress as well.

1. $37/m plan is useless compared to OptimizePress or LeadPages
2. Plans are limited by Unique Page Views
What I Love
Conversion Metrics Across The Funnel and Each Funnel Stage
Wondering why your funnel isn’t converting? Clickfunnels will show you exactly where in your funnel the issue lies.
See how many visitors to each page, see the conversation for the overall funnel as well as for each page in the funnel. This makes finding bad offers or poor converting pages really easy.
Easily Visualise The Entire Funnel and How It Links Together
Unlike LeadPages and OptimizePress which are focused on one page at a time, Clickfunnels is focused on the entire funnel and you simply add or edit pages inside the funnel.
This makes visually seeing all the pages and how they connect to each other really simple and easy, and makes managing and updates quick.
OptimizePress and LeadPages you can spend some time finding all the pages you need to edit that relate to each other if you haven’t used a simple naming convention.
Clone A Funnel – then Tweak
This is a powerful feature, the ability to take a funnel you have already built and clone the entire process. Every page, every upsell, downsell etc… all copied across.
This means if you want to test a different lead magnet but the rest of the funnel is the same, you simply clone the funnel and change the first page and start driving traffic. Less than 10 minute work.
This is an extremely powerful feature from ClickFunnels.
Powerful Page Editor – no coding required
LeadPages and OptimizePress also have page editors, LeadPages is useless – you can’t do much except hide some elements and change some colours. OptimizePress is extremely flexible and very powerful – but if you want to make a page that really looks WOW in design you do have to do what our team do and get under the hood and add some custom CSS and HTML.
ClickFunnels page editor is super simple, in fact our designers love it – it’s their favourite editor of them all. They can design right in the system without needing to create a photoshop mockup and they don’t need to know any code.
Adjust Funnel Flow with Drag and Drop
Want to move an upsell earlier in the funnel? No problem with the Drag and Drop feature inside ClickFunnels. You can simply click on the stage of the funnel (eg. an upsell, downsell, thank you page etc..) and move it wherever you want and without any coding changes it will now be at this point in the funnel.

While there are things I don’t like, there is still plenty that’s good and right about clickfunnels, otherwise our clients wouldn’t use it. So why not take it for a test drive today.
Summary – My Overall ClickFunnels Review
While my personal preference is OptimizePress for building out funnels and pages. Clickfunnels does a great job at making things fast and easy to update and bringing it all together.
My recommendation would be use Clickfunnels to test a concept and ideas, and once it’s working consider rebuilding the funnel in OptimizePress.
At the end of the day, it’s worth taking the 2 week free trial to find out if you like it or not
